Our fees are determined by the number of hours per week that your dancer is registered for at the studio. Please see further fee regulations, fee discounts and withdrawal policies below. Tuition Fees below are for the 2009/2010 season.

    FEE REGULATIONS 2009-2010


  • Tuition: Tuition fees include GST and are due at time of registration
  • Registration fee: $20.00 registration fee per student is due at time of registration and is non-refundable & non-transferable
  • Payment Options: Tuition may be paid either in one full payment or ten equal monthly payments. Registration will not be accepted without full payment, paid either yearly or monthly.
  • Monthly plan: Monthly fee payments reflect averaging yearly fees on a September to June yearly basis. Yearly fees are divided into ten equal monthly payments, due on the first of each month, September 1, 2009 through June 1, 2010. Monthly fees do not reflect the number of classes paid for each month, rather they are equal installments of the yearly tuition fees taken over 10 months.
  • Full Year Payment: Fees may be paid in full in one yearly payment. If you pay the yearly fee on or before August 1, 2009, you will be eligible for a 5% discount. Please note: if a student withdraws from the program, the yearly fees will be non-refundable.
  • Payment Options: We accept cheques, VISA, Mastercard and Amex for full year and monthly payments. All cheques should be made payable to: Contemporary School of Dance. Payment method must be indicated at time of registration on completed CSD Release and Payment Form.
  • Dance Company fees: Upon acceptance into one of CSD's dance companies, there are additional company fees, to which no studio discounts apply.
  • Examination fees: If your child is selected and agrees to participate in an exam, there will be additional costs to cover extra coaching classes and examination fees.
  • Costume Deposits: Costume deposits of $25.00 per class per student must accompany the Production Commitment form due January 31, 2010. Costume deposits are non-refundable.
  • NSF fees: "Non-sufficient funds" cheques are subject to a $25.00 service charge.
  • Outstanding balances: CSD will send out email reminders of outstanding balances or students/parents can check their account balance online through our registration software. CSD reserves the right to decline the re-enrollment of students with outstanding balances from previous years.
  • Late payment charge: 10% surcharge will be applied to all late payments at net 30 days.
  • Private lessons: Private lessons rate: $40/hour; Semi-Private rate: $20/hour
  • Scholarships: Please inquire about our scholarships for male students or students in financial need.
  • FREE CSD T-shirt: All students who register on or before September 1, 2009 will receive a FREE CSD T-Shirt! Please indicate your preferred t-shirt size when you register.

    FEE DISCOUNTS


  • Fee discounts: are built into our fee structure. Fees are paid based on the number of hours per week of classes. As the number of hours per week increases, the fee per hour decreases. Please see our fee chart for further details.
  • Full Year Payment discount: 5% full year payment discount applies on or before August 1, 2009. The full year payment discount is only applicable to full year tuition and is not applicable to session-based programs (fall, winter, spring). Please note: if a student withdraws from the program, the yearly fees will be non-refundable.
  • Unlimited Fees: Fees for individual students are capped at an annual maximum fee. When students register for classes that total six or more hours per week, they pay our unlimited fee, which entitles them to take an unlimited number of classes per week. Sibling discounts do not apply to unlimited fees.
  • Sibling Discount: Additional children in the same family are eligible for a 25% sibling discount. The discount is not taken off fees for the first student, but is applied to the fees of any number of siblings thereafter. The sibling discount is always applied to the lesser fees. The sibling discount does not apply to adult classes and can not be applied towards unlimited fees.

    WITHDRAWAL POLICIES


  • You must notify the school in writing if you intend to withdraw from a class or program.
  • Please note that there are NO refunds except when withdrawal is due to illness or injury.
  • If your child needs to be withdrawn from a program because of illness or injury, please provide the school with a doctor's note and a written withdrawal so that we may issue an appropriate refund. In cases where withdrawal is due to illness or injury, and a doctor's note has been provided, the current month's fees are non-refundable, but all remaining post-dated payments will be returned.
  • For specific situations where extenuating circumstances exist, we will consider each case separately - please contact the Director of the school, Christine Parker-Reid.
  • The $20.00 registration fee is always non-refundable.
  • If a student enrols in multiple classes and drops one or more classes, the remainder of the current monthly fees is not transferable to remaining months in the year. The remaining monthly payments will be altered to the new fees.
  • If you have paid tuition in one payment and received the 5% full year payment discount, fees will be non-refundable.
